Another fun CakeLAB 2017 cake for a baby shower. This cake was a riot to make. I didnt want it to finish. The techniques I used included textures in the "moss" using tinted graham crackers, Chocolate bark forked to roughen up the Tree Trunk, and Sculpting from chocolate fondant this adorable teddy bear topper. Not wedding related but a fun edition no matter. From my Cakes at Cost Promotion I present my first Cake LAB cake: using the replication technique of oranges and champagne bottle. Everything is edible with the exception of the champagne flutes and the trey.
I met this amazing couple in 2016 for the first time at our Tasting Consultation. Sabrina came with a handful of cake ideas and we worked our a combination design. Colors for the big day were Darker Hot Pint, White, Black and Silver/Bling. She wanted her cake to sparkle but not be covered in inedible material such as rhinestones. Brandon was a fabulous Groom and let Sabrina and her bestie Kathy do lots of chatting. Most Grooms get lost in the chitter chat of Brides bit he continued to watch his Bride with a smile on his face, beaming with love. They settled on a light Champagne Cake with Vanilla Frosting for the top tier. My signature Biscoff with Cream Cheese frosting for the middle tier and again the Champagne cake for the bottom with Raspberry filling and vanilla frosting. After this fun tasting I was thrilled when I watched these two drive away on their own separate Motorcycles. I guess this impressed me for the fact that not only did they have a common interest in an area that many do not share... They each had their own bike. Independent from each other they are amazing people, but as a couple, embracing their passions, finding joy in each other... they are Stronger than ever and even more amazing. Every tier of their cake was wrapped in Fondant and then Dark Pink Sanding Sugar was applied to the top and bottom. Pictures do not do the cake justice. Bouncing off of the mood lighting at the Double Tree Ballroom lights the cake shimmered. With a few Blinged out diamond accents about, and just shy of 100 Cupcakes in Champagne and Key lime flavors along side for guests this cake as Bright, Cheerful and sparkling. Very much like the love and vibrance Sabrina & Brandon have. Best of luck to your future and God Bless!
Most Grooms really do want their weddings to be beautiful, timeless and perfect. Regardless of what they joke about. Infact, in my experience, if a Groom gets really involved he tends to care more than many Brides. WHY? He really could care less about the shade of gold picked, be it classic or champagne. Ill tell you why. Because he realizes that the love of his life, the most beautiful women in the world in his opinion, HIS BRIDE!!! YOU!!!! -You have been dreaming about this day sense you first watched Cinderella as a little girl. And while your Dreaming of marring this man, he is dreaming of making that dream come true. To give you what dances around that imagination of yours. That is why he cares. He wants it to be perfect for YOU. Im sure most Grooms dont go to bed dreaming of the perfect 3 tiered cake with patterns and pearls swirling around his.... but he knows you do. Face it, Weddings are extremely feminine events. All that mushy mushy love stuff! Maybe give him that one element of a Grooms cake. They dont have to be big, they dont have to be elaborate. They just need to make a statement that you see him. A grooms cake doesnt have to be on display on the dessert table, or even at the reception at all. The cake pictured here, was for a groom at his bachelor party. Weddings these days dont hold to many timelines, its about what works for you as a couple. All I am trying to say is, when planning every detail... dont forget the most important one. HIM!!! Do something unexpected for him. Maybe it is a cake, maybe something else. What matters is that it is from YOU!!!
